I'm glad I decided that I am going to make a real commitment to this blogging idea. I'm sitting here on my bed after hearing about a kid named Clay Buchholz, a 23 year old pitcher who threw no-hitter tonight against lowly Baltimore who already had a 30-3 loss on them, and I'm thinking I need to do more to contribute to the wide world of sports. No, I'm not looking to throw a no-hitter or blast 30 runs against a major league team, but I'm here and I'm going to tell you my side of things. I might start off with a few articles about how I got to where I am, but I think that will personalize this site to you, the reader, that much more.
But before I get going (because I dont want this to be too long of a post) I want to tell all of you that I will not speak about American Football. Not one word unless its to tell you what team I love. I think the American public is a little too obsessed with American Football. There is the NFL for 17 weeks (21 if you count the ever exciting preseason) then come in the playoffs which are usually mixed up with teams from the NFC that has nothing to offer each other in games, followed by the Superbowl (yes, I observe). Then one week later; HELLO ARENA FOOTBALL! COME STAY IN MY LIVING ROOM FOR 17 MORE WEEKS! Then a playoff system followed by the arena bowl (no, I don't observe). But yet, I'm not done. There is the NFL draft, there was the NFL Europa, there is mini camp, Madden games, training camp. And thats just for the pro stuff! There is so much football going on in this cuntry its sickening. Don't even get me started on why I am hating on the NFL lately, just know that its getting a little sick.
Take the hours that you spend every Sunday and Monday watching football and compair it to the time spent with family. Which is higher? Yeah, thought so.
